The History of Tarot: Ancient, Modern Divination and Perception
The Tarot is a pack of unique cards. Today people use them to gain information about themselves or to get some answers. But Tarot cards were not always employed in this fashion. Both races have a history that dates back to hundreds of years.
What Is a Tarot Deck?

A Tarot deck has 78 cards. There are two main parts to the deck: the 22 primary arcana cards and the other 56 secondary arcana cards. The Major Arcana has 22 cards, these are the Archer, High Priestess, High Priest, Empress, Emperor, Hanged Man, Wheel of Fortune, Justice, Lovers, The Hermit, Strength, The Sun, Judgement, The Tower, The Star, The Moon, The Devil, The Hierophant, The Fool, The World Hanged Man hatred.
These cards fall under large categories, generally known as ‘Signs,’ for instance, ‘The Fool,’ or ‘The World.’ The Minor Arcana has 56 cards, divided into four suits: Swords, Wands, Cups, and Pentacles. These cards are in some way similar to illustrating a normal set of playing cards, but the meanings assigned to them are unique.

What Changes Occurred to Tarot in the Twentieth Century?
In the 1900s, Tarot became even more popular than before. The new deck was designed by a man called Arthur Edward Waite and a woman named Pamela Colman Smith. That deck is still considered one of the most significant decks today – it is the Rider-Waite Tarot. Every card of the deck is illustrated in cheerful colors with many symbols on them and sometimes stories.
Other individuals also created their own Tarotsets which are different in pictorials and symbolism. The other decks were based on myths, animals, or any other category that an individual could imagine. In the present time, there are hundreds of Tarot decks in circulation.
Why People Use Tarot Today?

This is not to say that when employing Tarot cards people anticipate the future. Most employ them to ponder on issues to do with emotions or aspirations, or challenges or accomplishments, for instance. Tarot is a way to unravel decisions and see things in another light. It is very much like having a tool to think with, to use for gaining insights.
Some report a connection being, at least, strong, that Tarot contains spiritual energy. Some consider them as a way of having fun and coming up with new concepts in telling a story or presenting a notion.
How Are Tarot Cards Read?
The procedure of Tarot reading is when a person mixes the deck of the cards and places them in a particular layout recognized as a “spread.” Every card that is put in the spread has a certain relevance. For instance, using the card ‘The Sun’ may symbolize happiness or success. That is why such a card as “The Tower” might indicate a shift in something.
A Tarot reader gazes at the cards that exist and then tells people what those cards could have in store for them. While it is not simply that they predict the future in a Paramount style, it was to prompt people into thinking of their lives in another manner.
From Past to Present
The Tarot has evolved much from it is origins as simply a deck of cards to be played. That has evolved with time owing to a vast change that has occurred the world over during this century alone. Today it is history painting and art and a mystery. If you are a skeptic who does not believe that Tarot has mystical abilities as many do then at least it can be agreed that Tarot has its place in society for that reason alone it can still be considered to be an interesting aspect.
As a result, Tarot is not about just the cards. It is about people and their experiences, the conversations they have and the discoveries they make. And such is the case, that using Tarot is timeless and magical for anyone who decides to practice it.
